　　2012·CHINA INTERNATIONAL STEEL SCULPTURE COMPETITION AND STEEL SCULPTURAL ART EXHIBITION CONTRIBUTION INVITED In order to Propagating Ma’anshan City’s traditional steel culture and Promoting the development of steel sculptural art, and to performing steel sculptural culture of Ma’anshan city, the competition is initiated by local government, Magang (Group) Holding Company Ltd, Sculpture Professional Committee of Chinese Arts and Crafts Institute and “Sculpture” Magazine together. Collect sculpture global right now. Part 1 SURVEY OF COMPETITION The competition’s theme is Propagating Ma’anshan city’s traditional steel culture and showing the city’s charm. Sculptures will be on show at ma’anshan city’s Jieqing square in steel sculptural styles from October 22 to November 22 in 2012. After exhibition , all sculptures will be displayed forever at diverse scenic zone of Ma’anshan city. The committee will select 30 sculptures to take part in the competition from all collections, and include Chinese artists’ 25, foreigners’ 5. The committee will provide ￥60,000(RMB)cost for ever artist who has been entered in. In order to encourage and support young sculptors, the committee is going to invite 10 youngers in the running. If applicant who would be entered in the competition, he or she will attend personally for creation at Ma’anshan city. The committee will supply them with site creation condition, and bear all the coats such as round-trip, accommodation, material, assistant, machining and setup, and invite them to take part in the opening ceremony. The competition will offer gold for one person, bonus is 50,000 yuan; Silver for two persons, bonus is 30,000 yuan; Innovation Award for two, bonus is 20,000 yuan; Breakout Sculptors will be three, bonus is 10,000 yuan. The committee will engage national and international artists form the Arts Council, according the principle of openness, impartiality and fairness, selection must be carried out on criterion and procedure of which has settled, and the prizes come from all works of the entrant, and the committee will bestow honors, prizes and souvenir for winners. Part 2 NOTICE FOR ENTRIES 1. The styles of entries All entries must be steel sculptures which could be set outdoor, design size is : (Length, Widht and Height) more than two metres and less than five metres. Material selection must be the steel and iron of Magang (Group) Holding Company Ltd, w hich produces four styles mainly. (Pictures of the special materials can be seen at official website of this competition:www. mansarts.com) 2. Range of artworks All the artists who have qualifications for application can join. There is no restriction on the nationality race, age and gender. 3. Requirement for creation The art work must be original; artists are in possession of his or her copyright; The art works can be integrated into local characteristic and environment, and be implementation, safety and permanence. Part 3 REGULATIONS OF REQUISITION (1) All competitors submit online submissions in principle, and need to fill out the attached blank and artworks instruction online, then present 1-3 artworks to the committee online. Be sure the application form clear and intact. Foreign artists (except Chinese descent) must use English to fill in. The application form can not be received when it is overdue. (3) In order to ensure the quality of competition, We intend to select some participants get through to the competition in advance before 5th June 2012, A final issue will publish on official website: www.mansarts.com on 5th June 2012. If you ensure get through to the competition, the committee will send formal invitation to you and sign a contract with you, to agree reached between the committee and competitors for the establishment of the cooperation relationship and the definition of the rights, responsibilities and obligations of each party.
