Beijing Guozijian Oil Painting Art Museum

　　Beijing Guozijian Oil Painting Art Museum, a high-profiled institution of public interest, was co-invested and built by the Chinese Academy of Oil Painting and the Evergreen Investment Group in accordance with related regulations of Beijing Culture & Art Foundation. The museum is planned to open to the public in 2013 after four years of construction. Covering an area of 11,000 square meters, the museum is located in Chengxian Street in Beijing renowned historical and cultural area of Yonghegong Lama Temple, adjoining Confucian Temple and Guozijian—the former imperial college for ancient dynasties.

　　With purposes of collecting, researching, protecting and exhibiting Chinese modern and contemporary oil paintings and promoting the development and prosperity of contemporary oil painting art, the museum establishes several functional departments, including exhibition department, academic research department, book reservation department, and art promotion department. Jin Shangyi, a senior artist, is now curator of the museum, while an art committee comprising celebrated experts and scholars like Zhan Jianjun, Quan Shanshi, Zhu Naizheng, Zhong Han, Shao Dazhen, Shui Tianzhong, Zhang Zuying, Sun Jingbo, Yang Feiyun, Shang Yang, Xie Dongming, Shang Hui, Lei Bo and C.C.Guo provides important academic instruction for the museum.

　　Designed by world-famous architect Tadao Ando, Beijing Guozijian Oil Painting Art Museum itself is a perfect art work, embodying a combination of Western modern design concept with Oriental classic aesthetic ideology. The museum, after completion of its construction, will be a professional exhibition venue of China oil painting circle, that permanently showcases its own collected paintings, while holding themed exhibitions and some mobile shows. The museum will perennially carry out artistic exchanges and cooperation with notable domestic and international art organizations, encourage oil painting creation and theoretical research, and make a positive contribution to the promotion and development of China oil painting art.
