　　WEI Ligang

　　1964 Born in Datong, Shanxi Province

　　1985 Graduated from Nankai University, Tianjin (majored in mathematics)

　　1985-1995 Math and calligraphy professor at Taiyuan Normal University

　　Teacher at the Art Education Centre at Qinghua University

　　Taught calligraphy and seal cutting as public elective courses

　　1995 Moved to Beijing, free artist

　　1999 Awarded the Academic Contribution Prize for organizing Bashu Parade: ‘99 Chengdu Retrospective of Chinese Modern Calligraphy at The End of the Century

　　2004 Opened senior modern calligraphic workshop at Artist Commune, Hong Kong

　　Won ACC art award, Rockefeller foundation, USA

　　2005 Member of Academic Committee of International Academy of Fine Arts, Resource from Beijing University - established the Chinese character art department

　　2007 Received 3 certifications of collection from National Art Museum, Beijing, China

　　2009 Professor and tutor of senior study class of high-end training department at Fine Arts Academy of Qinghua University

　　Present Vice-President of Modern Calligraphy Art Association of China

　　Member of Beijing Art Committee of China Democratic League
