Major Activities of the CSI(May 1992-May 2007)

1、The CSI journal was launched in May 1995 under the name of CSI Bulletin. It became a bimonthly printed in color in 2002. Beginning with the first issue of 2003, it adopted a new name Sculptors News Letter, which, however, was renamed China Sculpture beginning with the first issue of 2007.
2、With the approval of the PRC Ministry of Culture, the CSI organized nine groups of some 200 sculptors to visit, at their own expenses, Russia, France, Italy, Finland and Sweden from October 1995 to March 2000. They conducted inspection and academic exchanges with their counterparts in these countries.
3、From October 1998 to May 1999, the CSI and the Capital Urban Sculpture Art Committee jointly sponsored 10 lectures on Urban Sculpture and Environmental Art.
4、From October 2000 to June 2002, the CSI twice organized sculptors to attend the 5th and 6th Oita Asia Sculptural Exhibitions.
5、In March 2002，the CSI and the People’s Government of Guangdong’s Shunde jointly held the Shunde Urban Scenery Scheme Show.
6、From June 2002 to September 2003, the CSI completed construction of sculptures along the Datong-Yuncheng Expressway.
